Trying to Find Clarity on Your Journey Can Be One of the Hardest Parts of Getting Started
How can we start to find clarity on our path if we have never really known our true selves?
Sometimes we put more emphasis on everyone around us and and their needs, never really having the time or safe space to explore what we enjoy or what calls to us.
When we have never learned to follow our intuition, it’s very hard to know what our purpose and path are.
You are deserving and worthy of the time and space to know yourself and cultivate your passions and joy.
So here are a few ways to help you hear your inner voice and confidently move forward on your journey.
Find Clarity on Your Path by Discovering Where You Have Blocks and Working on Dissolving Them
Do you have trouble making decisions, are you always overthinking, or are you anxious a lot of the time?
You probably have limiting beliefs about yourself that are blocking your intuition.
What beliefs do you hold that are blocking your connection to your intuition? What are your biggest fears and triggers?
It could be that you were discouraged from accessing your spirituality as a child. You could lack self-worth and feel unworthy of contact with your higher self. It could have to do with the judgment of ourselves or others.
Where do you feel the most resistance in your life, or any physical pain?
Write down what comes to you.
Work on dissolving these blocks through the following:
Meditation for letting go of blocks on YouTube. (I picked a good one for you, but you can choose your own.) You may have to repeat the meditation several times.
Meditations and affirmations about self-love, forgiveness, and safety can help with blocks to your intuition as well.
Affirmations that affirm the opposite of your limiting belief. Check out our Pinterest page on affirmations.
Journaling about your blockages and where they originated.
Talk to a counselor if you need extra support.
How Do You Know if Your Ego is Guiding You?
Your ego is loud, it can make you feel like you are making the right decision even if it’s not for your highest good.
Ego-based decisions are usually the easiest solution. The one everyone expects of you. The one that doesn’t ruffle feathers and keeps you in your comfort zone, and everyone happy.
If you feel anxious, dread, or a sense of duty like it’s something you should do but would rather not, while contemplating a solution or change, it usually tends to be ego-driven.
You might even feel relief when making an ego-based decision because it means you don’t have to face your fears or take chances outside your comfort zone.
If you consider something only for what you will gain financially or socially, and it doesn’t quite match your values or higher goals, then it’s ego guiding you.
How Do You Know if Your Intuition is Guiding You?
You will probably feel some fear and anxiety when you start to listen to your intuition, because you are stepping out of your comfort zone and into the unknown. But it will feel right.
The more you trust it, the easier it gets.
You might even have a lot of protest from your ego. Possibly negative thoughts or self-sabotaging behavior.
Your intuition will feel like a calm, deep inner knowing.
If you are leaving behind something you love that you know is not ultimately for you. You will feel loss, but it will still feel right deep down.
Ego will sound like a whiny, negative child who wants to gain control. Whereas intuition will sound like a wise and patient friend who doesn’t mind if you head their advice or not.
You Need to Be Clear In the Mind, Body, and Soul To Find Clarity
Until you cut the outside noise, the reception will be unclear.
Where are you currently consuming that isn’t to your highest good?
It could be sugar, processed foods, fast food, or fried foods. Excessive drinking, smoking or drugs. It could be toxic relationships, toxic gossip or drama.
The television shows we watch, the books we read, our social media feeds. It all affects us.
We live in a toxic world, there is no getting around exposure to all these things.
If we can become conscious of what we are consuming and also what we are creating, then we can slowly start making better choices that are aligned with our highest good. And the highest good of others as well.
How does consuming it make you feel?
That’s how you will know ultimately.
Does it make you feel energized and peaceful?
Or do you feel slimy and yucky in your guts, headache, angry, depressed, or just out of energy?
Do you feel shame or guilt?
If we at least try to exercise moderation when it comes to what we are consuming to tidy our toxic consumption, bit by bit, it will help us greatly with the clarity of our channels.
To Find Clarity On Your Path Takes Self-Awareness and Reflection
You need to set aside some time for yourself to answer some big questions.
You can do this during your meditation and journal practice if you have started one.
Where are your opportunities for growth and healing?
This is the work you need to do.
Ex. Healing trauma, loving and accepting yourself and the parts you have repressed, creating boundaries, letting go of toxic behaviors, quitting bad habits, and adopting healthier habits.
What are your true morals?
How do you want to spend your time?
Who do you want around you?
Where do you want to be?
This is about your values and how you want to live your life. Do you want to cultivate a slow, quiet life with a select few people? Or do you prefer a more communal environment full of energy and activity?
What are you passionate about?
Where do you find a sense of purpose?
What brings you joy?
Is there anything you love doing that can also help people or bring them joy in some way?
This is how you start to hone in on your purpose. You should feel a lot of excitement and energy around these things.
Developing Your Intuition and Finding Clarity Takes Practice
The more you tap in and listen to it, the stronger it will become.
There is a certain type of beautiful magic the universe will perform on your behalf called synchronicity.
When you start doing your inner work and becoming more present and aware, you will find that the right answers and solutions will show up miraculously on your path.
You will know the answers are for you when the coincidences are just too outlandish to be anything otherwise.
Remember that these things take time, and welcome the help from the universe along the way.
