Energy Shapes Our Reality—How to Work With It Consciously

Have you ever walked into a room and instantly felt tense, even though no one said a word? Or hugged someone and felt deeply at peace? Or maybe you’ve had moments in nature where you felt completely alive and connected to everything — like the trees, the wind, and even time itself were in perfect rhythm with you? That, my friend, is energy. And it’s the force behind everything.

Understanding energy — also known as chiqiprana, or life force — is one of the most foundational parts of any spiritual or healing journey. It’s the thread that connects your body, mind, soul, and the universe itself. And once you start to understand it, everything begins to make sense. Life becomes less random, more intentional. You begin to feel empowered. Whole. Aligned.

Let’s go deep into what energy really is, how to feel it, how to work with it — and how it quite literally shapes the reality around you.

So… What Is Energy?

Energy is the invisible force that animates all living things. It flows through your body, moves through nature, and connects all beings in an unseen web. Every thought, emotion, and breath has an energetic frequency. Every person, plant, and planet vibrates with it. In ancient Eastern traditions, this energy is called Chi (Qi) in Chinese medicine and martial arts, and Prana in Indian yogic and Ayurvedic traditions.

But we don’t have to be experts in ancient philosophy to understand it. In fact, we feel it all the time — we’ve just forgotten how to notice.

“Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality.” – Albert Einstein

How to Feel Your Energy

Tuning into energy isn’t some mystical gift reserved for healers or psychics — it’s your birthright. You just need to slow down enough to listen.

Here are a few ways to start feeling your energy:

1. Feel It in Your Hands

Try this: rub your hands together briskly for a few seconds, then pull them apart slowly and hold them a few inches apart. Do you feel a tingling, buzzing, warmth, or subtle magnetism? That’s your energy field.

2. Breathe Into Your Body

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Focus on your heart, belly, or the space between your hands. You might notice warmth, movement, or a sensation of expansion.

3. Notice Sensations

Energy can show up as tingles, heat, heaviness, lightness, or even emotions rising out of nowhere. Trust what you feel — your body is speaking.

How to Know If the Energy Is Yours

Here’s something many people miss: not all the energy you feel is yours.

We’re all sensitive to the energies of other people, places, and even collective events (like the news or a stressful environment). This is especially true if you’re an empath or highly intuitive.

To check if an energy is yours, ask yourself:

Was I feeling like this before I walked into this room / spoke to this person / scrolled online?

Does this feeling match my usual state of being?

Can I trace it back to something that happened to me, or does it feel foreign or sudden?

You can also practice clearing yourself energetically through:

Breathwork or grounding meditations
Salt baths or time in nature
Shaking, dancing, or movement to “shake off” stuck or external energy

Intention: simply say, “I release any energy that is not mine. I call my own energy back to me now.”

How Energy Speaks to You

Energy speaks in subtle ways — through sensations, synchronicities, gut instincts, and even your thoughts and moods.

Some examples:

A tight chest or yucky feeling sensation in your body might be energy trying to show you where you’re holding back, suppressing emotion, need to accept or surrender and trust.

A sudden wave of emotion can be energy moving — either yours being processed or external energy entering.

Goosebumps or chills can signal truth or divine presence.

Repetitive signs or synchronicities (like hearing the same word or seeing the same symbol repeatedly) can be energetic messages from the universe or your own soul.

The more you pay attention, the louder it gets. The more you ignore, the more stagnant and blocked you may feel.

How Energy Creates Your Reality

Here’s the truth that changes everything:

Your energy creates your experiences.

The thoughts you think, the emotions you feel, the state of your nervous system, your beliefs — they all have energy. And energy attracts like energy.

If you’re full of resentment, you’ll find more things to resent.

If you carry self-love, the world begins to reflect that love back to you.

If you’re holding fear or unprocessed trauma, it often creates repeating patterns until it’s released.

This isn’t “toxic positivity.” This is frequency, vibration, and attraction — the very foundation of how reality works on an energetic level.

You don’t have to be perfect, but becoming aware of your energy puts you in the driver’s seat.

Raise Your Energy

How to Raise Your Energy: Beyond the Basics

Raising your energy isn’t just about “good vibes” — it’s about clearing stagnant frequencies, expanding your natural radiance, and aligning with your truth.

While practices like breathwork, nature, and meditation are powerful, sometimes your energy body craves something a little more specific — a sensory, symbolic, or elemental shift that brings you back into your sacred rhythm.

Here are more intuitive and creative ways to raise your energy — tools, rituals, and practices that speak to your soul, not just your mind:

Burn Sacred Plants (Palo Santo, Sage, Mugwort, or Resin)

Why it works: Smoke has been used for centuries to clear and shift energy. The plant spirit itself holds vibrational medicine.

Try this: Light palo santo and set an intention. Circle it around your body or space. Say out loud what you’re releasing.

Note: Be mindful of sourcing. Palo santo and white sage are sacred and endangered in some regions — alternatives like mugwort, rosemary, or sustainably harvested resins (like copal or frankincense) are wonderful too.

Use Incense with Purpose

Different incense blends vibrate at different frequencies.

Sandalwood: grounding, spiritual attunement

Nag Champa: energy clearing, sacred focus

Frankincense & Myrrh: ancient soul remembrance

Let the scent anchor your nervous system into stillness, reverence, or release.

Essential Oils as Energy Tools

Oils don’t just smell good — they carry the healing and vibrational essence of plants.

High-vibe oils to raise energy:

Peppermint: clears mental fog, uplifts your aura

Rose: opens the heart, activates divine love

Frankincense: connects to spirit and inner wisdom

Citrus (lemon, orange, bergamot): brightens mood, clears stale vibes

Patchouli: grounds you while still expanding energy upward

Create Art (Not to Be Pretty — But to Move Energy)

Draw, paint, scribble, sculpt, collage — not for the result, but for the expression and movement of energy

Use colors intentionally, move with your emotions, express what wants to be brought forth.

Think imagery, symbols, movement, feeling/tone, to either raise your energy or help release unaligned energy.

Sound Healing

Maracas or any type of drum or shaker can move and stir up stagnant energy in your home or around your body.

Just set the intention of clearing unaligned energy while shaking or drumming in a counter clockwise circle.

Then after the energy has been cleared you can then shift your energy to what you want to call forth. Love, trust, creativity, etc.

You can also use your voice:

Humming stimulates the vagus nerve and clears the throat chakra.

Chanting “OM” or “AH” opens portals to higher frequencies.

Use a singing bowl if you have one, or even ring a bell in each corner of your space to reset the vibration.

Or listen to a sound healing meditation on YouTube.

Salt: The Silent Cleanser

Salt absorbs dense and negative energy.

Try a salt bowl or a salt lamp at your bedside to soak up emotional debris.

Use a salt scrub in the shower to slough off energetic residue. Or a magnesium sulphate bath.

Even placing a bowl of salt water in a room for a few hours can clear energetic heaviness.

Wear or Carry Energetic Allies

Crystals, malas, symbolic jewelry, or sacred textiles can all help you carry a higher frequency.

Amethyst: clears and protects your energy field

Citrine: boosts personal power and joy

Black tourmaline: grounds and shield.

Rose quartz: fills your field with love

 Sip Intentionally-Charged Herbal Tea

Herbs carry frequencies. Steep with presence.

Tulsi (Holy Basil) for resilience and lightness

Lemon balm for emotional soothing and uplift

Ginger for activating energy and inner fire

Blue lotus for spiritual connection and lucid insight

Work With the Moon + Elements

Use moon phases to tune your energy:

New moon: set intentions, call in fresh energy
Full moon: release, expand, energize

Connect to the elements when you need to shift:

Water: baths, rain, rivers — for emotional cleansing
Fire: candles, bonfires — for passion and purification
Earth: walking barefoot, gardening — for grounding
Air: breathwork, incense, wind — for clarity and movement

Raise Energy Through Meaning

Sometimes, the most powerful frequency boost is soul alignment:

Write a letter to your future self

Read poetry that cracks you open

Do one small act of kindness for someone else

Follow one intuitive nudge you’ve been ignoring

Bonus Tip: Clear Tech + EMF Sludge

Your energy can be drained by overstimulation or electromagnetic fields.

Unplug regularly, turn off your router at night, use EMF protectors (shungite, orgonite), or take tech-free time in nature.

Energy and the Chakras

Your body has energy centers called chakras, which correspond to different aspects of your life — like safety, creativity, power, love, truth, intuition, and spiritual connection.

When these are balanced and flowing, you feel aligned. When they’re blocked or overactive, you may feel disconnected, exhausted, or emotionally stuck.

Exploring the chakras is one of the most practical ways to begin working with your energy. You can read more on the chakra system in our article “Beginner’s Guide to Chakras: Understanding Your Energy Centers.”

Energy Is Everything

This isn’t just a concept to learn — it’s a way of life.

Once you begin to feel your energy, you realize that:

You are not broken — your energy may just be stuck.

You are not alone — you are connected to everything.

You are not powerless — your energy is your greatest source of power.

And from that place…

You begin to live differently.

You begin to walk through the world with presence, clarity, and intuition.

You begin to co-create your life — instead of reacting to it.

Final Note: Follow What Lifts You

It’s not a one-size-fits-all. What raises your vibration might be different from someone else’s. The key is to pay attention:

What feels expansive?

What makes you feel like you again?

What clears your mind, body, and heart

That’s your medicine.
